Forgiveness – Breaking Free and Moving On

Fr. Peter Doherty, OMI and Patti-Anne Kay have written a book on forgiveness.

Most of us find it hard to forgive others and ourselves, even though we know it’s good for us and is an important part of our Christian faith and other spiritual practices. If you’ve struggled to forgive, this practical book can help you get started on this path to freedom. Embracing forgiveness brings peace – to your life, to those around you and to your community. Are you ready to choose forgiveness as a way of life? Using stories of real people as examples, the authors gently lead the reader through the process and the various issues that can arise. Sixteen Tools and Strategies for healing, moving forward and forgiveness offer tried-and-true techniques to support the life-giving decision to forgive.

Peter Doherty is associate professor of psychology and family studies at St. Mary’s University in Calgary, Alberta. He holds a doctorate in psychology and graduate degrees in pastoral counselling and theology, and specializes in spirituality and family relationship dynamics. Patti-Anne Kay is a writer and pastoral counsellor based in Sidney, British Columbia. She holds a master’s in religious education from Newman Theological College, has extensive training in Ignatian spirituality and prayer, and is a co-founder of Forgiveness Links.
