Oblate Novena for Vocations
May 21-29, 2025:
A Time of Grace for the Whole Church

The 2025 Oblate Vocation Novena follows the theme of the Great Jubilee and honors the memory of Pope Francis.

Oblate formation communities across the Polish Province wrote this year’s novena for the Week of Prayer for Oblate Vocations. Together, the prenovices of Grotniki, the novices at Holy Cross, and the scholastics in Obra, with the support of their formators, prepared the daily reflections.

The meditations reflect the spirit of the Great Jubilee 2025, guided by Pope Francis’ apostolic letter Spes non confundit. Each day of the novena focuses on a theme chosen by the formation communities: Saint Eugene, hope, love, perseverance, path, peace, enthusiasm, works of mercy, and Mary Immaculate. These themes shape a path of prayer for Oblate vocations as pilgrims of hope in communion.

A Jubilee of Prayer and Mission

We believe that by celebrating this novena with faith, we respond to Christ’s command: “Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Lk 10,2). We did not know Pope Francis would no longer be among us when the novena was written. Today, we offer these days of prayer with the conviction that he intercedes for us from the House of the Father.

May this Jubilee Year be a time of spiritual renewal and waiting for the Holy Spirit, who renews the face of the earth. As Oblates, we carry forward the charism of Saint Eugene and the desire to bring the Gospel to all peoples. Through this novena, we ask God for new vocations to our Congregation so that His Word may continue to reach the ends of the earth and His glory be made known in every culture.
