‘‘Paper Children: Inside America’s Overwhelmed Asylum System’’

Are we ready to follow the lives of four refugee children fleeing on their own to America from Honduras? I was not prepared to accompany them. This video documentary should not be watched by children not because we see images of violence or sex on the screen but because we listen to the testimony of what children have experienced and should never have experienced. I invite you to watch this documentary by filmmaker Alexandra Codina, that we all might appreciate the call of the gospel to be hospitable and generously welcome refugees.

Alexandra makes this documentary over a period of four years as these children go through the process of seeking asylum. It will move you to tears, as it did me, but hopefully also move us to act on behalf of refugees and immigrants.
