‘Listening to Indigenous Voices’ Program
The Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface invites you to explore Indigenous cultures, worldviews and the history of colonization, as well as increase your awareness of ways to live reconciliation, thanks to the “Listening to Indigenous Voices”. Conceived by the Jesuit Forum for Social Faith and Justice, “Listening to Indigenous Voices” will take you on an intellectual, emotional and spiritual journey.
The program will be led by Daniel Bahuaud, responsible for Reconciliation Education for the Non-Indigenous. Essentially, it’s like a book club! People read a few pages of the program’s book ahead of time and then get together once a week to discuss, view videos, react, pray and see how we can all begin to walk together with the Indigenous people of our country, province and community.
The first evening of the journey begins on Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m. at the Baudoux Hall (basement) of the Archdiocesan Centre, 151 ave. de la Cathédrale in St. Boniface.
At this very first meeting, Brother Thomas Novak, OMI, will propose a unique learning activity. Afterwards, you’ll be able to pick up a copy of the book ($20). All may attend the first session at no cost or any further commitment. The other meetings will take place every Thursday at the same time. Come to listen, learn, journey and pray together. All are welcome.
The course is free, although free-will offerings will be accepted. Books are sold at cost. If you are already interested, you can register by contacting Daniel Bahuaud at communications@archsaintboniface.ca or at 204-594-0277.
