Province-wide conversation on restructuring

As part of our province-wide conversation on restructuring, we invite those who were unable to attend the first meeting to watch this recording. Rooted in the call of the General Administration’s Committee for Restructuring, this gathering introduced the purpose of the process and the guiding principle of creating “structures that give life.” We encourage you to engage with these discussions as we continue our journey of discernment, dialogue, and renewal:

In late 2024, the General Administration’s Committee for Restructuring wrote:

The restructuring process is not merely an administrative task; it is an opportunity to renew ourselves as a missionary community. Through reflection, dialogue, and discernment, we aim to build a shared vision that responds more effectively to the needs of the world and the call of the Gospel.”

The Purpose of These Conversations:

  • To share information about the congregational restructuring process.
  • To seek your feedback and insights.
  • To address any concerns, answer questions, and foster dialogue.

Meeting Schedule and Focus:

COMPLETED – First Zoom Meeting (An Introduction): January 29, 2025

  • Clarifying the purpose of restructuring and the guiding principle of creating “structures that give life.” (In preparation for our first meeting, you may wish to read the section on Restructuring from the Acts of the 37th General Chapter, p. 51).

Second Zoom Meeting (Exploring Scenarios): February 13, 2025

  • Presentation and discussion of various restructuring possibilities.

Third Zoom Meeting (Concluding Conversations): February 26, 2025

  • Summary of insights, key themes and next steps.

Preparation and Participation: In advance of meetings two and three, you will receive an information package with materials for reflection and discussion questions. We encourage you to reflect individually and meet in small groups or local communities to discuss these materials. Please send your group’s reflections and feedback to the Council before the next meeting to help shape the ongoing dialogue.

Each session will last approximately 75 minutes, including prayer, presentation, small group work, and plenary sharing.

Thank you for your prayerful participation in this important discernment process. Together, let us seek structures that will give life to our shared mission and deepen our fidelity to the Gospel.
