Kionyo Parish – Care for the Elderly Community Members
For some time, the Parish Team have been running a regular programme of visitation of elderly and sick parishioners and non-parishioners.
As the culture changes and people move away for work, the elderly relatives are sometimes lost for company, unable to afford medicines and their residences fall into disrepair.
Fr Constant OMI and Fr Makunka OMI, along with any scholastics or Brothers available at the time, visit about 40 elders every week.
It’s a wonderful Ministry for the sometimes forgotten members of the parish. As someone said, we are so busy looking after the youth we sometimes forget our mothers and fathers.
Thanks to the pastoral team at Kionyo for reminding us of our duty!
