Oblate Mission in Pakistan
In Pakistan, the Oblates have an important role in preparing the next generation of missionaries! The Karachi Scholasticates continue to the formation program of young men through teaching, spiritual direction, retreats and accompaniment.
Faith and education often begins before students enter the scholasticate, with Oblates involved in philosophy studies and early stages of discernment. Through the Formation ministry, the Oblates strengthen their community and support the growth of the Catholic Church in Pakistan.
Oblate Mission in Sri Lanka
In 1987, the Oblates of the Jaffna Province opened Anpaham, meaning “A Home of Love,” to provide a safe and caring home for children affected by conflict and, later, the devastating 2004 tsunami.
Today, Anpaham provides children a safe place to grow, learn and look toward the future. Along with a home, they receive food, education, health care and clothing. These children also experience the sense of belonging and care as they grow into adulthood.
The ministry reflects the Oblate belief that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up with hope for the future.
The Oblate Missions in India are nurturing both vocations and provide space for spiritual renewal. The Oblate Juniorate welcomes young men for a “come and see” year of opportunity to learn about Oblate life, deepen their faith and discern whether they are called to missionary service. MAMI mission helps to provide food, education and formation as these young men explore their vocation and prepare for a life of service.
Oblate Mission in India
The Oblate Ashram christened Aanmodaya (awakening to the divine self within) was established in 1990, offers something different: a place of quiet and renewal. Established in 1990, it welcomes people of all backgrounds to step away from the demands of everyday life, spend time in prayer or silence, reconnect with nature and find space to rest and reflect.
