Do you have publicly traded securities that you would like to donate to the benefit of the Oblate Missions? With the tax law introduced in 2006, you can directly donate your publicly traded securities (shares) to AMMI Lacombe Canada MAMI and receive an official income tax receipt for the fair market value while avoiding the payment of capital gains tax.

There are different ways an individual can use life insurance as a gift to the Oblate Missions through AMMI Lacombe Canada MAMI:

1. Transfer ownership of a paid in full policy.
2. Transfer ownership of an existing policy on which premiums are still owed.
3. Purchase a new policy, initially naming AMMI Lacombe Canada MAMI as the owner.
4. Name AMMI Lacombe Canada MAMI as the primary beneficiary of a policy.

In the case of an existing life insurance policy, ownership is transferred by completing an assignment (transfer) form, which can be obtained from the insurance company.

If the policy is purchased with the express purpose of making a gift, AMMI Lacombe Canada MAMI may be named as owner (and beneficiary) on the application form.

The donor benefits by receiving a charitable tax receipt for each premium paid. The donor contributes the premium amount to AMMI Lacombe Canada MAMI, who then in turn pays the insurance company and issues a charitable tax receipt to the donor for the premium amount.

AMMI Lacombe Canada MAMI benefits upon payment of death proceeds for the life of the insured and the donor receives a charitable tax receipt for the value of the policy.
