Dear friends,
We’re delighted to share the Fall 2025 edition of the ORCIE Offerings—a vibrant snapshot of our collective journey toward ecological justice, both in Canada and globally.
This season’s newsletter takes you behind the scenes of our upcoming delegation to COP30 in Belém, Brazil, where ORCIE staff will represent our Religious congregations, standing in solidarity with the Global South and amplifying their moral call for climate justice. You’ll find highlights of our planned participation in UNFCCC side events, our collaboration with Brazilian partners, and Sasquia Antúnez Pineda’s upcoming panel participation on the side event “Responding to the Global South Catholic Bishops Conferences’ Call for Climate Justice”.
We also reflect on our impactful Learning & Lobbying Days on Parliament Hill, where ORCIE members met with MPs and senior policy staff to advocate for fair climate finance, fossil fuel caps, and Canada’s global responsibilities. From webinars to in-person meetings, these efforts will be shaping our legislative engagement for 2026.
In August, ORCIE submitted federal budget recommendations rooted in Catholic social teaching and Laudato Si’, calling for investments in clean energy, youth climate jobs, and international climate finance. These priorities will guide our response to the upcoming budget announcement and inform our advocacy moving forward.
In coalition, ORCIE has joined the Canadian Network for Corporate Accountability and endorsed faith-led campaigns for mining justice in El Salvador—deepening our commitment to solidarity and systemic change.

Bonjour à toutes et à tous,
On est super contents de vous présenter l’édition automne 2025 du Bulletin BCRÉI, un aperçu dynamique de notre parcours collectif vers la justice écologique, tant au Canada que dans le monde.
Le bulletin de cette saison vous emmène dans les coulisses de notre prochaine délégation à la COP30 à Belém, au Brésil, où le personnel de BCRÉI représentera nos congrégations religieuses, en solidarité avec les pays du Sud et en amplifiant leur appel moral en faveur de la justice climatique. Vous y trouverez les points forts de notre participation prévue aux événements parallèles de la CCNUCC, notre collaboration avec nos partenaires brésiliens et la participation prochaine de Sasquia Antúnez Pineda à la table ronde « Répondre à l’appel des conférences des évêques catholiques du Sud pour la justice climatique ».
On revient aussi sur nos journées d’apprentissage et de lobbying sur la Colline du Parlement, où les membres de BCRÉI ont rencontré des députés et des hauts responsables politiques pour plaider en faveur d’un financement climatique équitable, de plafonds pour les combustibles fossiles et des responsabilités mondiales du Canada. Des webinaires aux réunions en personne, ces efforts façonneront notre engagement législatif pour 2026.
En août, BCRÉI a soumis des recommandations budgétaires fédérales fondées sur l’enseignement social catholique et Laudato Si’, appelant à des investissements dans les énergies propres, les emplois climatiques pour les jeunes et le financement international de la lutte contre le changement climatique. Ces priorités guideront notre réponse à la prochaine annonce budgétaire et orienteront notre action future.
En coalition, BCRÉI a rejoint le Réseau canadien pour la reddition de compte des entreprises et a soutenu les campagnes menées par les communautés religieuses pour la justice minière au Salvador, renforçant ainsi notre engagement en faveur de la solidarité et du changement systémique.
