Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group
Members of the Saint Eugene Prayer Group commit to offering these intentions daily in their own manner of prayer. All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are highly encouraged to actively pray for the requested intentions.
Week 5
January 30, 2024
As a community, we pray
That the Lord will welcome into His Kingdom:
- Elsie from Saskatchewan, mother of beloved friends, who passed away on January 15, 2024. May Christ’s mercy and love surround her family as they grieve their loss and celebrate her life.
- Warren Foster, who died January 21. Warren was married to Bev, sister of Fr. Glenn Zimmer, OMI. We pray for Warren’s repose and pray for consolation and strength for Bev and all the members of the Foster and Zimmer families.
- François Joseph Marie Cueff, OMI who died in Lyon, France on January 18, 2024. We give thanks for François’ 42 years of ministry in Northern Canada and his nearly 70 years of religious life as an Oblate of Mary Immaculate. We pray that François will rest in eternal peace
For these brothers and sisters, their communities, their families and those who love them and those who provide for their care:
- For Melissa in Vancouver, who had a massive heart attack and was put on a ventilator. We pray for the success of her medical treatment, for her return to health and for the Lord’s comfort of her father, Bob, and her mother, Jaqueline – an OMI Associate in Edmonton.
- For Kurt, who has just undergone surgery for brain cancer and is starting rounds of radiation. We pray for Kurt’s healing and for his family and medical team.
- For Ernest Kosa, who had a serious heart attack and is in the cardiac unit at the Regina General Hospital. Ernest is the brother of Fr. Edward Kosa, OMI. We pray for Ernest’s healing and for the comfort and strength of the Kosa family in God’s love for them at this time.
- For Bev D of Ottawa who is dealing with recent major mobility challenges. We pray for her healing, discernment and acceptance.
For our Oblate family:
- For the generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.
- For all Oblate Associates discerning their renewal of commitment in BC, as they gather over Zoom to pray and share together in preparation for Approbation Day on February 17th.
For our Métis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.

The Prayer Intentions of The Holy Father for February 2024
- For the terminally ill: We pray that those who are in the final stages of life, and their families, receive the necessary medical and human care and accompaniment.
SUBMITTING PRAYER REQUESTS
EMAIL: prayers@omilacombe.ca. All emailed intentions (received by Monday noon ET) will be acknowledged and added for communal prayer for two weeks. Please consider brevity and form, as in the following example: For whom, from where, for what, other. Example: For John S, in Fort Simpson, who is undergoing cancer treatment. We pray for the complete remission of his cancer.
Privacy and Confidentiality: All requests are confidential to the prayer group and the Members’ section of OMI Lacombe Canada’s website. To facilitate confidentiality, we ask that you use first names, (understanding that prayers are being sought for a specified person for a specific reason), and the initial of the last name, only if necessary, in your prayer requests. While prayer members protect each other’s’ privacy as normal practice, please pay special attention to respect the privacy of all those non-members for whom we pray. Confidentiality is of utmost importance and is adhered to at all times by members, volunteers and staff in Prayer Ministry at OMI Lacombe Canada.
