Members of the Saint Eugene Prayer Group commit to offering these intentions daily in their own manner of prayer. All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are highly encouraged to actively pray for the requested intentions.

Week 11

As a community, we pray

For these brothers and sisters, their communities, their families and those who love them and those who provide for their care:

  • For Josh, from the Comox Valley, undergoing treatment for a rare, aggressive cancer. We pray that God will grant this young man courage and perseverance in his journey.
  • For Lyndsay, of Saskatoon, who has been recently diagnosed with cervical cancer which is aggressively advancing to the left lung, abdomen, adrenal gland, and lymph nodes. We pray for courage, faith and hope to surround Lyndsay as she undergoes chemotherapy treatment.
  • For Joe, in Tofino, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. We pray for those who are there to support him.
  • For Fr. Gerry LeStrat, OMI who was admitted at the Sturgeon Hospital March 1st to receive treatment for a serious ear infection. We pray for his speedy recovery.
  • For Joe S, a long time Oblate Associate in Edmonton who is recovering in hospital from pneumonia. We pray for Joe and his caregivers.
  • For Allen F, of Oshawa, Ontario, who was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer. We pray for strength, courage, faith and hope to surround Allen as he begins cancer treatment.
  • For Richard Wink, who publishes the Centre Oblat Newsletter, Richard was recently diagnosed with cancer. His wife, Corry, was also diagnosed with cancer earlier in 2023.  We pray that Richard’s and Corry’s faith will surround them with the love and support of family and friends at this time.
  • For Fr. Richard Beaudette, OMI, who undergoes surgery March 14 to remove a kidney. We pray for his speedy recovery and good health.

For our Oblate family:

  • For the generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.

For our Métis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.

EMAIL: prayers@omilacombe.ca. All emailed intentions (received by Monday noon ET) will be acknowledged and added for communal prayer for two weeks. Please consider brevity and form, as in the following example: For whom, from where, for what, other.  Example: For John S, in Fort Simpson, who is undergoing cancer treatment. We pray for the complete remission of his cancer.

Privacy and Confidentiality: All requests are confidential to the prayer group and the Members’ section of OMI Lacombe Canada’s website. To facilitate confidentiality, we ask that you use first names, (understanding that prayers are being sought for a specified person for a specific reason), and the initial of the last name, only if necessary, in your prayer requests. While prayer members protect each other’s’ privacy as normal practice, please pay special attention to respect the privacy of all those non-members for whom we pray.  Confidentiality is of utmost importance and is adhered to at all times by members, volunteers and staff in Prayer Ministry at OMI Lacombe Canada.

The Environment: We urge you to save paper by viewing these pages on your screen/monitor. If you cannot read the intentions comfortably and must print the sheets, consider printing in “grey scale” to conserve ink. At the Foot of the Cross Prayer intentions are emailed weekly on Tuesdays to Prayer Group members and published on Wednesday as Prayer Corner, on the OMI-Lacombe website’s Members Section (UserID and Password required).
