Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group

Members of the Saint Eugene Prayer Group commit to offering these intentions daily in their own manner of prayer. All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are highly encouraged to actively pray for the requested intentions.

Week 5-6-7

February 3, 10 & 17, 2025

As a community, we pray

  • Fr. Denis Bourbonnais, OMI

For Fr. Denis Bourbonnais, OMI, who died at Despins Residence in Winnipeg on February 1, 2025 at the age of 96. We pray that Denis may rest in the Peace of Our Lord, as we also keep the members of his extended family and his Oblate community in our prayers.

  • For Rod in Ottawa who is facing more skin cancer surgery. As the live-in care giver for his 90-year-old mother, his caregiving absence for post-surgical recovery causes him great anxiety. We pray for mom and son that they feel the loving presence of the Holy Spirit during this challenging time.
  • For Lesley from St. Albert as she struggles with mental health challenges. We pray that God may grant her healing and peace.
  • For Bill in Edmonton who suffers from diminishing health and mobility. We pray for his wife, family, doctors, and nurses caring for him in the health system, and for the dignified care he needs at this time.
  • For Walter C. from Ottawa who has suffered a stroke and is experiencing great fear and anxiety.  We pray that through the peaceful presence of Jesus and through His grace that Walter may find healing and hope in his recovery.
  • In gratitude, for the prayers offered for Joe and Mary in Regina, united in the different setting of a loving personal care home. We pray that they know and live Jesus’ peace and acceptance of what is.
  • For Samantha, who is nearing the end of her battle with cancer. We pray that she may be surrounded by peace and love, and that her family may find strength, courage, and comfort in God’s embrace during these final moments.
  • For Don from Windsor who is suffering a lot of pain due to cancer. We pray that the Lord may grant him solace at this difficult time in his journey.
  • For Fr. Ron Rolheiser, OMI who continues to deal with bouts of recurrent cancer and the associated treatments. We pray that our Lord Jesus, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother and St. Eugene, may give Ron strength and healing in the days ahead.
  • For Fr. Andrzej Stendzina, OMI, who has been appointed Provincial Superior of OMI Lacombe Canada. We pray for Andrzej to feel the love and support of his brothers and sisters in his Provincial family as he sets up his Leadership Team, under the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

Pope Francis’ Intention for February

  • For vocations to the priesthood and religious life: Let us pray that the ecclesial community might welcome the desires and doubts of those young people who feel a call to serve Christ’s mission in the priesthood and religious life.

A Prayer of Healing

O! Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, we ask for your intercession as the voice of the first peoples’ of our common homeland to help us protect our ecology, to care for Creation and to support each other in gratitude.

We pray that we, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, may draw from the example of your short faith-filled life, a profound hope in the Resurrection. May we strive for an authentic relationship of mutual respect, friendship and joy, as brothers and sisters, on a path of healing and reconciliation.

May your prayer ever be our prayer: “Jesos Konoronkwa”, Jesus, I love you.
