As a community, we pray

  • † For the repose of Fr. Christie Joachim-Pillai, OMI who died in Toronto on August 30, 2025. As we remember Father Christie we give thanks for his 75 years as an Oblate, almost 69 years as a priest. We also pray for the members of his family and of his community.
  • For Margaret McGarry on Vancouver Island, home with palliative care help. We pray that Jesus’ loving comfort  strengthen and sustain her, her husband Jim and their family.
  • For Archbishop Sylvain Lavoie, OMI as he continues to deal with his health issues. We hold Sylvain in our prayers and we pray for the medical team assisting him and for the Oblates and Associates who are journeying with him at this time.
  • For Fr. Oliver Rich, OMI in thanksgiving for his return to his residence at Billingswood Manor in Ottawa after his recuperative stay at Bruyère Hospital. May the Lord grant him strength and continued healing.

Pope’s Prayer Intention for the month of September: For our relationship with all of creation:

Let us pray that, inspired by Saint Francis, we might experience our interdependence with all creatures who are loved by God and worthy of love and respect

A Prayer of Healing

O! Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, we ask for your intercession as the voice of the first peoples’ of our common homeland to help us protect our ecology, to care for Creation and to support each other in gratitude.

We pray that we, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, may draw from the example of your short faith-filled life, a profound hope in the Resurrection. May we strive for an authentic relationship of mutual respect, friendship and joy, as brothers and sisters, on a path of healing and reconciliation.

May your prayer ever be our prayer: “Jesos Konoronkwa”, Jesus, I love you.
