Week 9
March 3, 2022

As a community, we pray for:

Associate Chris Meerveld who is currently at the U of A emergency with a blood clot on his heart.

Associate Doug Paul who is very ill.

Emily Sanche. Emily, 25 years old, in hospital in Saskatoon in critical condition, for healing, for courage and strength for her family, and for all the medical staff attending to her care.

Long time friends of the Oblates, Rita and Larry Novakowski. Rita is suffering from serious health issues and Larry has been care-giving.

For Luc Poulin, who is having deep brain stimulation surgery. For the surgeons and for his recovery.

Grace Gaita in Pittsburgh, PA, 16 yrs old and on life support. Please pray for Grace and her parents Chuck and Bethany Gaita.

Eleanor’s sister, Mary Cooke, who is seriously ill and in the hospital.

Ashley, whose mental and emotional health issues continue to seriously affect her life.

The generous ‘Yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.

For PEACE

People of Ukraine,

may you feel the solidarity of so many surrounding you as evil acts invade your land and your lives,

may you be safe from violence and enveloped in peace,

may transformative wisdom reshape the hardened hearts of those who too often choose brutality over bonds,

may those in power use their strength and resources to protect the very real, vulnerable humans most harmed by petty politics and propaganda,

and as our overwhelmed attention inevitably wanes,

may we all recommit to keeping our focus fixed on the weighty war being waged, not only on one country but on the entire idea of freedom,

and may we the world not only hope for but actively become the better place and people we know are possible.
Amen [From ‘Spirituality and Practice]
