‘At the foot of the Cross:’ Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group

Week 17
April 26, 2022

As a community, we pray

Gilbert Mason, OMI, who died on April 21, 2022. As an Easter people, we trust that Gil is rejoicing at the eternal banquet with the risen Christ. We also pray also for his community at Springhurst and those who were close to Gil, as they bid farewell to their friend and brother.

Edmond Paradis, who lives at Despins Residence in St. Boniface. A cancerous spot was recently discovered on his liver. He is now waiting for an appointment with specialists who will determine the best course of treatment. Edmond says he is feeling well, confident in his doctors, and trusting in God’s care.

We continue to remember in prayer:

All those in our families and community who are living with illness of any kind. We remember Phil Smith, Ron Dechant, Terry Conway, Dennis Alexander and Jim Dukowski, as they deal with medical issues.

Maureen Pinsonneault, H. OMI, who is in palliative care.

Eleanor Rabnett’s sister, Mary Cooke, and her husband as they investigate support for her and her husband with her dementia.

Ashley, whose mental and emotional health issues seriously affect her life.

The generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.

We pray for all our brothers and sisters in need, and for their caregivers, families, and friends.

We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine

God of реасе and justice,
we pray for the реорІе of Ukraine today.
We pray for реасе and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for аІІ those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or реасе,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above аІІ, we pray for аІІ your precious children, at-risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Реасе.
Amen.
