Prayer Corner
‘At the foot of the Cross:’ Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group
Week 18
May 4, 2022
As a community, we pray:
Wayne Jarvo is in hospital in Ottawa and is quite ill. We remember Wayne and all members of our community and families who are experiencing serious health concerns. We ask for God’s blessings on them and their caregivers.
John Collet, OMI, of the US Province, who died on April 27, 2022. Fr. Collet was born in Manitoba and was ordained there before moving to the US to serve in retreat and formation ministry. May he rest in peace.
Bill Stang and Fr. Ken Forster, who will be going to Kenya on May 9, to participate in the 25th anniversary celebration of the Kenyan Mission. We remember all our Oblates who have generously served building up the mission. As they celebrate the 25th anniversary, we pray for the priests who are ministering there, those in formation, and the people who they serve.
We continue to remember in prayer:
All those in our families and community who are living with illness of any kind. We remember Oblates Edmond Paradis, Phil Smith, Ron Dechant, Terry Conway, Dennis Alexander and Jim Dukowski, as they deal with medical issues.
Maureen Pinsonneault, H. OMI, who is in palliative care.
Eleanor Rabnett’s sister, Mary Cooke, and her husband as they investigate support for her and her husband with her dementia.
Ashley, whose mental and emotional health issues seriously affect her life.
The generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.
We pray for all our brothers and sisters in need, and for their caregivers, families, and friends.
We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine
God of реасе and justice,
we pray for the реорІе of Ukraine today.
We pray for реасе and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for аІІ those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or реасе,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above аІІ, we pray for аІІ your precious children, at-risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Реасе.
Amen.
