Prayer Corner
‘At the foot of the Cross:’ Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group

Week 21
May 24, 2022

As a community, we pray for:

Dennis Alexander, OMI, who died May 15th. Fr. Dennis’ funeral will be on Friday, May 27th at St. Augustine Church in Vancouver. We remember his family, friends, brother Oblates and associates who are mourning his loss.

Suzanne Massie, Oblate associate from the Galilee BOC, whose home was very badly damaged in last week’s storm. We also remember those in Ontario who lost their lives, and others who had significant property damage.

The 2nd Oblate Lay Associations Congress will be held May 27 – 29 in San Antonio. Our Lacombe delegates are Francis Maza, Erin Ryan, Dan Friedt, Joanne Friedt, as well as Sandy Prather and Ken Thorson. Much of the Congress will be live streamed. For more information or to receive the links go to omioikia.org. Safe travels friends. We look forward to hearing about your experience in the future.

We continue to remember in prayer:

Eleanor Rabnett’s sister Mary Cooke, who has been diagnosed with dementia. Mary and her husband Anthony are receiving help so that she can remain at home with Anthony, at least for the short term.  They are all grateful for your prayers.

All those in our families and community who are living with illness of any kind. We remember Oblates Edmond Paradis, Phil Smith, Ron Dechant, Terry Conway, and Jim Dukowski, as they deal with medical issues.

Ashley, whose mental and emotional health issues seriously affect her life.

Maureen Pisonneault, H.OMI, who is in palliative care.

The generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.

We pray for all our brothers and sisters in need, and for their caregivers, families, and friends.

We continue to pray for our Metis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters
