Prayer Corner
‘At the foot of the Cross:’ Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group
Week 51
December 21, 2022
As a community, we pray for:
John Francis (Frank) Kavanagh, OMI who died peacefully on December 20. The Vigil Service will be Tuesday, December 27 at 7:00 pm and the Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, December 28 at 11 am. Both services will be held at Canadian Martyrs Parish, 100 Main Street, Ottawa.
Roy Boucher, OMI who is presently in Arnprior Hospital awaiting placement in long-term care.
For Rose, who is suffering from depression and feels very alone.
For D. and S. whose daughter was killed by an impaired driver on Dec. 21, 2018, at age 11. This is a terribly difficult time of year for them. We pray for their healing and consolation.
For the monks of St. Peter’s Abbey, in Saskatchewan, and for all religious communities who are experiencing aging and diminishing numbers. We pray in gratitude for the gift that they have been, and continue to be, to so many, and ask God to bless them with peace and hope.
We continue to pray for:
All those in our community and families who are ill, and for those who care for their needs: Edmond Paradis, 5-year-old Rylee, and her family, as she battles leukaemia, Lil Cook, Ethan and family, Bella, Tom, Rosie Paner, Tanya Boyle, and Colleen O.
Andrea and her journey to recovery from drug addictions.
Ashley and Micah, who struggle with personal issues.
The generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.
We continue to pray for our Metis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.
We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine.
God of реасе and justice,
we pray for the реорІе of Ukraine today.
We pray for реасе and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for аІІ those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or реасе,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above аІІ, we pray for аІІ your precious children, at-risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Реасе.
Amen.
