Prayer Corner
‘At the foot of the Cross:’ Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group
Week 19
May 3, 2023
As a community, we pray for:
Honorary Oblate, Jean Bélanger, HOMI, who passed away on April 28, 2023. We offer our sympathy and prayers to Jean’s loved ones.
Fr. Terry Conway, OMI, who passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver, BC at the age of 81. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on May 4, 2023 at 10:30 am (PT) at St. Augustine’s Church, 2028 West 7th Avenue, Vancouver, BC. A small reception will follow at the parish centre after mass.
Micah, the 16-year-old granddaughter of Colleen Kerr. Micah will be going to a multi-disciplinary treatment for people aged 13 to 18. This is a huge courageous step for Micah, and we continue to hold her in our prayers.
We continue to pray for:
All those in our community and families who are ill and have asked for our prayers. We pray for those who love them, and those who care for their needs.
For My Ngo, who has been diagnosed with cancer.
Jonah Gillam, a father of five, who will be undergoing a series of operations on his eye. We pray for the success of his surgery, so he can continue to work and support his family.
For Armand J, as he deals with end-of-life health issues, and for peace for his large family who loves him so much.
Matt S who is having heart issues and will have surgery soon.
The generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.
We continue to pray for our Metis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.
We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine.
God of реасе and justice,
we pray for the реорІе of Ukraine today.
We pray for реасе and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for аІІ those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or реасе,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above аІІ, we pray for аІІ your precious children, at-risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Реасе.
Amen.
