Prayer Corner
‘At the foot of the Cross:’ Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group
Week 21
May 17, 2023
As a community, we pray for:
Micah, granddaughter of Colleen Kerr, who was to begin her 3-week live-in treatment program Monday, May 15. Pray for Micah’s family as well. They are so grateful for the ongoing prayers and support.
Trayton, who suffers from depression.
Billy who has a bile duct blockage and will undergo tests to identify its source.
Hubert Whyte, younger brother of Fr. Eugene Whyte, OMI, who died on May 10. We also remember his family as they bid farewell to Hubert. May he rest in peace.
Margaret Holden, mother of Cathy Holden/Greg Saretsky (Br. Anthony District), as she enters the final stages of life. Comfort all of them, and welcome Margaret into eternal life.
We continue to pray for:
All those in our community and families who are ill and have asked for our prayers. We pray for those who love them, and those who care for their needs.
Rob, and his wife Maureen. Rob has been battling cancer for a couple of years, and they have just been told it’s metastasized and that he has only weeks to live.
Rita Novakowski, who has cancer, and her husband Larry. Rita and Larry are long time Oblate friends, and both worked for many years at Queen’s House in Saskatoon.
Keith Hoang (author of Built for Greatness, a Christian version of the Tao te Ching and generous donor to the Star of the North) has asked for prayers for his brother’s wife My Ngo, who has been diagnosed with cancer.
Matt S who is having heart issues and will have surgery soon.
Blain Young, who has been hospitalized since last week. Blain was discharged today and continues to improve.
The generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.
We continue to pray for our Metis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.
We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine.
God of реасе and justice,
we pray for the реорІе of Ukraine today.
We pray for реасе and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for аІІ those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or реасе,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above аІІ, we pray for аІІ your precious children, at-risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Реасе.
Amen.
