Prayer Corner
‘At the foot of the Cross:’ Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group

Week 36
August 303, 2023

As a community, we pray for:

The retreat ministry of OMI Lacombe Canada, that the gifts of the Holy Spirit may guide us to recognize the mission of retreat houses through Oblates, associates, staff and volunteers who keep Christ ever visible in our community.

Jim G who is suffering from clinical depression and is hospitalized.

The repose of James Howard Cassidy, brother of Fr. Thomas Cassidy, OMI. We also pray for the members of his family, in particular George and Louise Poirier, who have cared for Jim over the years, as well as his L’Arche community.

Rita who is experiencing health issues.

Dan who has addictions issues.

Our Oblate brothers, especially the elderly and infirmed, who are suffering.

We continue to pray for:

All those in our community and families who have asked for our prayers. We pray for those who love them, and those who care for their needs.

Greg Wigle who has serious kidney problems and is very ill with cancer.

David Groves diagnosed with bladder cancer and is facing uncertainty ahead.

Colin, who has ALS and is nearing the end of his life, and for his young family and all those who love him.

Ron Rolheiser, who is recovering well from his surgery.

Eleanor, who will be having more medical testing in the coming weeks.

Stephanie, who has breast cancer.

David Munoz (San Antonio) who had a malignant brain tumour removed and will be starting radiation and chemotherapy.

All those from the Kelowna and Yellowknife areas who are affected by the fires.

Micah, as she continues her journey of healing. We pray for Micah’s family as well.

All our family and community members as they experience the challenges of aging and infirmity.

The generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.

We continue to pray for our Metis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.

We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine.

God of реасе and justice,
we pray for the реорІе of Ukraine today.
We pray for реасе and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for аІІ those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or реасе,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above аІІ, we pray for аІІ your precious children, at-risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Реасе.
Amen.
