Prayer Corner
‘At the foot of the Cross:’ Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group
Week 40
September 27, 2023
As a community, we pray for:
Charles-Emile (Chuck) Joly, brother of Fr. Maurice Joly, OMI, who passed away peacefully at Covenant Care in Foyer Lacombe, surrounded by his family. Chuck was 95 years old, elder brother of Fr. Maurice, but only by a year! We pray also for peace and consolation for Fr. Maurice and all the members of the Joly family as they commend Chuck to God’s loving care.
Raymond Plamondon, cousin of Fr. Gerry LeStrat, OMI, who has kidney problems and is in need of dialysis treament.
Connie, for her recovery from a heart attack last weekend.
A number of our Oblates across the Province are experiencing various health and aging issues. Remember these brothers in your prayers:
Maurice Schroeder, OMI, who had his foot amputated. He will be transferred from Saskatoon to Battleford Hospital to continue his recovery and prepare for a prosthesis.
Edmond Paradis, OMI, who was placed in palliative care at Despins Residence, St. Boniface, last week, as his cancer progresses.
Leonardo Rego, OMI, who remains at the Heart Institute in Ottawa. He had a pacemaker implanted and now waits for angioplasty and insertion of a stent. The procedures will take place Tuesday and Thursday.
William MacDonald, OMI, who is in hospital in Vancouver, recovering from infections and possibly needs a pacemaker.
Gilles Gauthier, OMI, who remains in hospital in comfort care in Edmonton.
Walter Demong, OMI, who is experiencing heart failure. Please pray that he can get an appointment with a cardiologist very soon.
We continue to pray for:
All those in our community and families who have asked for our prayers. We pray for those who love them, and those who care for their needs.
Elise who had hernia surgery on September 25, and her husband John who is recovering from a serious back injury. For quick healing, and grace and peace to manage their family life with four school aged children, during their recovery.
All those who are affected by the news of the closure of Galilee Retreat Center, and Queen’s House of Retreat and Renewal. Give them the strength, courage and hope to persevere when times are difficult.
Micah, as she continues her journey of healing. We pray for Micah’s family as well.
All our family and community members as they experience the challenges of aging and infirmity.
The generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.
We continue to pray for our Metis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.
We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine.
God of реасе and justice,
we pray for the реорІе of Ukraine today.
We pray for реасе and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for аІІ those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or реасе,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above аІІ, we pray for аІІ your precious children, at-risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Реасе.
Amen.
