Week 41
October 4, 2023
As a community, we pray for:
William (Bill) MacDonald, OMI who died on September 28 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. We also pray for peace and consolation for the members of Bill’s family and his Oblate community. Fr. Bill’s funeral will take place on Thursday, October 12th at St. Augustine’s Parish.
Walter DeMong, OMI is still in hospital in Saskatoon with congestive heart failure but may be released soon. He will return to his community at Trinity Manor. He is comfortable and in good spirits.
Moe Schroeder, OMI who is recovering from an amputation. He is in hospital in Unity, SK for his recovery. He will be fitted with a prosthetic in the coming weeks.
Leonardo Rego, OMI, who is recovering from heart surgery.
Please hold these brothers in prayer, and remember the members of their communities, their families and those who provide their medical care.
Charles-Emile (Chuck) Joly, brother of Maurice Joly, OMI, who passed away peacefully at Covenant Care in Foyer Lacombe surrounded by his family.
We continue to pray for:
All those in our community and families who have asked for our prayers. We pray for those who love them, and those who care for their needs.
Connie, for her recovery from a heart attack.
Edmond Paradis, OMI who is in palliative care at Despins Residence, St. Boniface, as his cancer progresses.
Gilles Gauthier, OMI who remains in hospital in comfort care in Edmonton.
Elise who had hernia surgery on September 25, and her husband John who is recovering from a serious back injury. For quick healing, and grace and peace to manage their family life with four school aged children, during their recovery.
Micah, as she continues her journey of healing. We pray for Micah’s family as well.
All our family and community members as they experience the challenges of aging and infirmity.
The generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.
We continue to pray for our Metis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.
We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine.
God of реасе and justice,
we pray for the реорІе of Ukraine today.
We pray for реасе and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for аІІ those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or реасе,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above аІІ, we pray for аІІ your precious children, at-risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Реасе.
Amen.
