Week 45
November 2, 2023

New Prayer Group Coordinator for the  ‘At the Foot of the Cross’ Prayer Ministry:

Many thanks to Arnie Francis, Associate in Ontario District, who has volunteered to serve as our new Prayer Group Coordinator.
Arnie will take over November 1, 2023, in receiving, preparing and organizing the prayer requests for emailing to the prayer group members and posting on the website.

Many, many thanks to JoAnne Chrones who has so very faithfully carried out this ministry for the past year and a half.

As always, prayer requests are to be sent to prayers@omilacombe.ca.

All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are encouraged to send their prayer requests to the Saint Eugene Prayer Group.
We have over 20 Associates and Oblates praying for these requests daily.

All requests are confidential to the prayer group and the Members’ section of OMI Lacombe Canada’s website.
To facilitate confidentiality, we ask that you use first names or initials only in the request.

Requests stay on the prayer list for two weeks unless otherwise indicated.

As a community, we pray for:

The Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul, Oct. 30 – Nov. 4th as they hold their General Chapter meeting to discern a viable future for our congregation who are aging and smaller in number. [received Oct 30, 2023]

Greg W. receiving treatment for prostate cancer. [received Oct 26, 2023]

We continue to pray for:

Walter DeMong, who died on Friday, October 20. We pray for his family and the Oblate community who are mourning their loss.

Joe Blatz, a former member of St. Mary’s Province, who died on Thursday, October 19, in Saskatoon. Please pray for his wife Pauline and those who love Joe.

Ron Rissling, who had a fall and suffered a cracked tailbone.

Seven-year-old Adam who had surgery last week. We pray for a successful recovery.

Brian Zimmer, spouse of JoAnne Chrones, who had his second hip replacement last week.

Rick Massie, brother of associate Suzanne Massie Manchevsky, who was supposed to have spinal cord surgery last week, which was cancelled. We pray for Rick and his family as they wait for another surgery date.

For justice and peace in the world, especially for all those in the Middle East. We pray for Jews, Muslims and Christians, Palestinians and Israelis. Bring comfort and healing to those who are scared and have lost loves ones. Grant wisdom and insight to their leaders.

Please hold these brothers and sisters in prayer, and remember the members of their communities, their families and those who love them and those who provide their medical care.

All our family and community members as they experience the challenges of aging and infirmity.

The generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.

We continue to pray for our Metis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.

We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine.

God of реасе and justice,
we pray for the реорІе of Ukraine today.
We pray for реасе and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for аІІ those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or реасе,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above аІІ, we pray for аІІ your precious children, at-risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Реасе.
Amen.
