Week 46
November 8, 2023
As a community,
Let us pray that the Lord will welcome into His Kingdom:
- Our departed veterans who gave their lives in the service of their country. May they rest in peace.
We hold these brothers and sisters in prayer, remembering their communities, their families and those who love them and those who provide their medical care:
- For Greg W. in treatment for prostate cancer. We pray for success in his therapy.
- For Brian Z, of Saskatoon, who is recovering from a second hip replacement. We pray for his speedy rehabilitation.
- For Gillian, in Vancouver, for healing from the affects of a recent concussion. We pray for her full recovery.
- For Amy and Bob of Vancouver, for the continued health of their unborn baby. We pray for a healthy and successful pregnancy.
We also pray for our religious communities:
- For the generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.
- For the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul and their aging and smaller congregation. That the Holy Spirit’s presence in their recent General Chapter meeting will guide them to discern a viable future.
May we work for peace in our world, in our communities and in our hearts:
- For peace with justice throughout the world and in our own land; for those engaged in military action; for those now retired from active service and for the safety of the active personnel of the Canadian Armed Forces. We pray for their wellbeing.
We continue to pray for our Métis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.
