Prayer Corner: ‘At the foot of the Cross’
Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group
Members of the Saint Eugene Prayer Group commit to offering these intentions daily in their own manner of prayer. All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are highly encouraged to actively pray for the requested intentions.
Week 47
November 14, 2023
As a community,
We hold these brothers and sisters in prayer, remembering their communities, their families and those who love them and those who provide their medical care:
- For Gillian, in Vancouver, for healing from the affects of a recent concussion. We pray for her full recovery.
- For Amy and Bob of Vancouver, for the continued health of their unborn baby. We pray for a healthy and successful pregnancy.
- For Susan, of Saskatoon, a beloved friend who is dealing with complicated medical issues, compounded by a recent heart attack. We pray for her health to stabilize.
- For Lisa B, of Ottawa, who was just diagnosed with breast cancer. We pray for a positive outcome in her treatment.
- For Helen R, of Ottawa who is dealing with multiple cancers in her organs. We pray that her doctors will successfully identify the cancers and that she may find comfort and strength in their care with positive results.
- For Morgan in Ottawa for a successful surgery and effective radiation treatment for recently diagnosed testicular cancer. We pray for speedy healing.
- For Rick, in Ottawa, whose delicate spinal cord surgery has been re-scheduled again from Oct 17 to Nov 14 to Nov 21. We pray for his family, his surgeon and his medical team at this time and we pray he will regain the use of his legs and hands.
- We pray for Mr. Deivanayagam Malaiyappan, the father of Fr. Arokia Vijay Deivanayagam, OMI. We pray that Vijay’s presence at his father’s side will give strength and encouragement to assist his dad’s recovery from septic shock.
- For Corinne of Saskatoon. We pray for strength and healing.
We also pray for our Oblate family:
- For the generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.
May we work for peace in our world, in our communities and in our hearts:
Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace, who are Yourself our peace and reconciliation, who so often said, “Peace to you” – please grant us peace.
Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice and brotherly love. Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace. Enlighten our rulers that they may guarantee and defend the great gift of peace.
May all peoples on the earth become as brothers and sisters.
May longed-for peace blossom forth and reign always over us all. Amen.
Prayer for Peace—St. John Paul II
We continue to pray for our Métis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.
