Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group

Members of the Saint Eugene Prayer Group commit to offering these intentions daily in their own manner of prayer. All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are highly encouraged to actively pray for the requested intentions.

Week 49

As a community,

Let us pray that the Lord will welcome into His Kingdom:

  • Fidele Munkiele Mfrankiel, father of Fr. Fidele Munkiele, OMI, Kenya Mission Superior. Fidele’s father, a retired teacher, died in Kinshasa, on November 20, 2023. May he rest in peace, and may all his family and friends be graced with consolation and hope.
  • Maurice Boulanger of Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba, brother of Fr. Noël Boulanger, OMI. Maurice died on November 15. May God grant Maurice eternal rest and give healing and consolation to his family members.
  • Denise Piché, SGM, the sister of Fr. Camille Piché, OMI. Sr. Denise died in St. Albert on November 16. We pray for Fr. Camille and the Piché family, the Grey Nuns of Montreal and all Denise’s friends, asking God to bless and console them in their grief.

We hold these brothers and sisters in prayer, remembering their communities, their families and those who love them and those who provide their medical care:

  • For Eleanor, of Ottawa, for God’s blessing as she works to maintain her continued independence and self-care. We pray for her safety, strength and wellbeing.
  • For Gerry from Calgary, who is facing uncertainty as he awaits a diagnosis and treatment for a recurring prostate cancer. We pray for strength and healing.
  • For Paula, in Prince Albert, her husband, the children, their spouses, and a grand-daughter, that the Advent path of their daily lives be open to the Spirit’s lead. We pray for St. Eugene‘s intercession and the blessings of the Holy Spirit on this family.
  • For Tiffany, in Calgary who struggles with addiction. We pray for the Lord’s grace for healing and to keep her safe.

We also pray for our Oblate family:

  • For the generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.

In anticipation of the First Week of Advent, we pray for Hope

(IS 63:16B-17, 19B; 64:2-7; 1 COR 1:3-9; MK 13:33-37)

God of hope, we light this candle as we prepare for the coming of your Son. Awaken our hearts to you this Advent season, so that when Christ arrives, we are ready to receive him with all our hearts, all our minds, and all our strength. Amen.

SUBMITTING PRAYER REQUESTS

EMAIL: prayers@omilacombe.ca. All emailed intentions (received by Monday noon ET) will be acknowledged and added for communal prayer for two weeks. Please consider brevity and form, as in the following example: For whom, from where, for what, other.  Example: For John S, in Fort Simpson, who is undergoing cancer treatment. We pray for the complete remission of his cancer.

Privacy and Confidentiality: All requests are confidential to the prayer group and the Members’ section of OMI Lacombe Canada’s website. To facilitate confidentiality, we ask that you use first names, (understanding that prayers are being sought for a specified person for a specific reason), and the initial of the last name, only if necessary, in your prayer requests. While prayer members protect each other’s’ privacy as normal practice, please pay special attention to respect the privacy of all those non-members for whom we pray.  Confidentiality is of utmost importance and is adhered to at all times by members, volunteers and staff in Prayer Ministry at OMI Lacombe Canada.
