Prayer Corner: ‘At the foot of the Cross’
Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group

Members of the Saint Eugene Prayer Group commit to offering these intentions daily in their own manner of prayer. All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are highly encouraged to actively pray for the requested intentions.

Week 23
June 3, 2024

PLEASE NOTE: Prayer Group members will receive Week 24 Prayer Intentions by email on June 10th. Prayer Corner (website) will resume after the Provincial Council Meeting June 17th.

As a community, we pray

That the Lord will welcome into His Kingdom

  • Wendelin Rolheiser, who died peacefully in Saskatoon’s St. Paul’s Hospital on May 22, 2024. We offer our condolences to his brother Pius, sister Bea, brother Ron, and the whole Rolheiser family, and all who will grieve his passing. We pray that Wendelin is now at peace in Gods loving arms.
  • Joe Staszko, a long-time Oblate Associate, who died May 20, 2024 in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta after a lengthy hospitalization. We pray for his repose and for the consolation of Helen his wife of 65 years and those who mourn Joe’s passing.

For these brothers and sisters, their communities, their families and those who love them and those who provide for their care:

  • For Gerry Zeck of Calgary, recently diagnosed with metastatic cancer. We pray that he and those he loves may find strength, courage and peace for this journey.
  • For Ryan Doornbos of Toronto, as he continues treatment for lymphoma. We pray for courage, strength and healing and for his family and friends who support him.

For our Oblate family:

  • For the generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.

For the Pope’s Intention for the Month of June 2024

  • For those fleeing their own countries: Let us pray that migrants fleeing from war or hunger, forced to undertake journeys fraught with danger and violence, may find welcome and new living opportunities in their host countries.

For our Métis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.

Who is this that comes forth like the dawn, beautiful as the moon, bright as the sun…?
Song 6:10 (NCB)

O Blessed Virgin, Our Lady of Guadalupe, intercede for us with your Son

That we who live in this land, Indigenous and non-Indigenous together,

May experience healing and reconciliation on a renewed journey of justice and peace for our children.

Mother of the Church, pray for us.
