Members of the Saint Eugene Prayer Group commit to offering these intentions daily in their own manner of prayer. All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are highly encouraged to actively pray for the requested intentions.

Week 19
May 7, 2024

As a community, we pray

For these brothers and sisters, their communities, their families and those who love them and those who provide for their care:

  • For Lyndsay of Saskatoon as she continues her chemo treatments. We pray for her enduring strength, courage and hope.
  • For Rob Meilleur from the OMI Lacombe Provincial office in Ottawa, whose cancer has returned after ten years of remission. He is currently undergoing treatment. We pray for his healing and strength.
  • For Beattie as she awaits assistance with medical costs to allow her to continue to work from home. We pray for the Lord’s graces to allow her to earn an income and to get better.
  • For Mary C who is declining due to dementia. Her husband, Anthony, is her caregiver. We pray for the speedy provision of home care to help this aged couple manage the challenges of this phase of their lives.
  • For Daniele who is terminally ill with cancer and for his wife and three young children. We pray that God’s love will nourish this family during this difficult time.
  • For Ron who is enduring multiple cancers plus other serious health issues and his wife and two adult children. We pray for courage, strength and healing.
  • For the repose of the souls of Brenda Jones, sister-in-law (d. April 29, 2024 in Hinton AB) and for Vern Timm, brother-in-law (d. May 5, 2024 in Ottawa ON) of Fr. Richard Kelly OMI. We pray for the consolation of the families of the deceased and the Lord’s mercy on their gentle souls.

For our Oblate family:

  • For the generous ‘yes’ of men to an Oblate life and of men and women to Oblate Association.
  • “Hope is our way of being in the Church. It is foundational in all that we believe. It carries us forward in mission…. This hope that we bear, in turn, brings hope into our own religious life and commitment.” IV.3. We pray for the Oblates and Oblate Associates attending Convocation 2024 in St. Albert, Dare We Hope?

A Prayer of Thanks for Blessings Received:

Heavenly Father, in our prayers and petitions we ceaselessly ask you for your mercy and healing. May we also always fill our hearts with gratitude for all of the blessings you’ve given us, the graces we have received and the peace you have granted our sisters and brothers. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

For our Métis, Inuit and First Nations brothers and sisters.

EMAIL: prayers@omilacombe.ca. All emailed intentions (received by Monday noon ET) will be acknowledged and added for communal prayer for two weeks. Please consider brevity and form, as in the following example: For whom, from where, for what, other.  Example: For John S, in Fort Simpson, who has begun cancer treatment. We pray for the remission of his cancer and his perseverance.

Privacy and Confidentiality: All requests are confidential to the prayer group and the Members’ section of OMI Lacombe Canada’s website. To facilitate confidentiality, we ask that you use first names, (understanding that prayers are being sought for a specified person for a specific reason), and the initial of the last name, only if necessary, in your prayer requests. While prayer members protect each other’s’ privacy as normal practice, please pay special attention to respect the privacy of all those non-members for whom we pray.  Confidentiality is of utmost importance and is adhered to at all times by members, volunteers and staff in Prayer Ministry at OMI Lacombe Canada.

The Environment: We urge you to save paper by viewing these pages on your screen/monitor. If you cannot read the intentions comfortably and must print the sheets, consider printing in “grey scale” to conserve ink. At the Foot of the Cross Prayer intentions are emailed weekly on Tuesdays to Prayer Group members and published on Wednesday as Prayer Corner, on the OMI-Lacombe website’s Members Section (UserID and Password required).
