Week 2
January 13, 2025
As a community, we pray
-
- For the healing of Joseph Dauk, father of OMI Associate Karen Sax. Joseph’s second hip was broken before Christmas. We pray that Jesus, our Light, shine upon him and Mary, his wife of 70 years, as they navigate new ways of living and being open to God’s will unfolding.
- For Sharon of Regina who will be receiving a pacemaker, that her heart full of love continue to grow spiritually and it be strengthened physically in the power of Jesus’ healing Spirit.
- For Trevor in Lanark County, Ontario who is being guided to conversion in the Faith by the Holy Spirit, yet sorely tormented in a time of personal tensions. We pray for his strength, perseverance and trust in God’s grace.
- In gratitude for prayers answered
- Through healing prayers for Donna, who continues to recover from a hip injury as she struggles to find the strength to exercise her new guide dog;
- For B. as he navigates a painful marriage separation and continues in counselling to remain hopeful for transformation for himself and his two young sons;
- For Louise who has begun therapy for grief, anxiety, depression and inner peace; and
- For Tess who is 99 and “just desires God to bring her home”.
- For Fr. Vaughan Quinn, OMI, who has been admitted to the Ottawa General Hospital, from Greystone Transitional Hospital, as his health condition deteriorated significantly recently. We pray for Vaughan and his family members and the members of the Springhurst community as they accompany Vaughan at this time.
Pope Francis’ Intention for January
For the right to an education. Let us pray for migrants, refugees, and those affected by war, that their right to an education, which is necessary to build a better world, might always be respected.
A Prayer of Healing
O! Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, we ask for your intercession as the voice of the first peoples’ of our common homeland to help us protect our ecology, to care for Creation and to support each other in gratitude.
We pray that we, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, may draw from the example of your short faith-filled life, a profound hope in the Resurrection. May we strive for an authentic relationship of mutual respect, friendship and joy, as brothers and sisters, on a path of healing and reconciliation.
May your prayer ever be our prayer: “Jesos Konoronkwa”, Jesus, I love you.
