Members of the Saint Eugene Prayer Group commit to offering these intentions daily in their own manner of prayer. All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are highly encouraged to actively pray for the requested intentions.

Week 37

September 15, 2025

As a community, we pray

  • For Alex who had surgery in Saskatoon on September 8. Alex has complex medical needs and has had countless surgeries. Her dad also has debilitating medical needs. This is a stressful time for their family, and we pray for healing and courage for all of them.
  • For Charlie McGregor in St. Albert, and many others waiting patiently in hospitals for long term care placements. We pray that all our elderly and their caregivers have access to much needed services in a timely manner.
  • For the Fall Community Meetings happening this month though out OMI Lacombe Canada. We pray that these gatherings with Provincial Council, local Oblates and Associates be truly blessed as they discern together through synodal listening
  • For Fr. Jim Fiori, OMI who has been diagnosed with advanced Parkinson’s Disease. We pray for Jim, the members of his community and his caregivers.
  • For Virgil in Calgary who is declining physically and mentally and for his wife Shirley his primary caregiver. We pray that they strive to accept God’s plan with peace and trust.
  • For Colleen’s beloved granddaughter, Micah, in Vancouver who has begun her College studies. We pray she will be graced to take her new path one day at a time, unafraid to reach out for help.
  • In thanksgiving for reconciliation between two siblings whose relationship was fractured for over thirty years.
  • For Bernadette Lemay who fell and damaged her right arm and fractured a shoulder.  While she is physically  frail, her mind is alert. Hopeful of transfer to rehab from the University of Alberta hospital, she needs a Care Home. We earnestly pray for Bernadette’s healing, strength and perseverance, and that the Lord’s providential care may nourish her in her need.

A Prayer of Healing

O! Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, we ask for your intercession as the voice of the first peoples’ of our common homeland to help us protect our ecology, to care for Creation and to support each other in gratitude.

We pray that we, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, may draw from the example of your short faith-filled life, a profound hope in the Resurrection. May we strive for an authentic relationship of mutual respect, friendship and joy, as brothers and sisters, on a path of healing and reconciliation.

May your prayer ever be our prayer: “Jesos Konoronkwa”, Jesus, I love you.

Please consider brevity and form, as in the following example: For whom, from where, for what, other.  Example: For John S, in Fort Simpson, who has begun cancer treatment. We pray for the remission of his cancer and his perseverance.

To facilitate confidentiality, we ask that you use first names, (understanding that prayers are being sought for a specified person for a specific reason), and the initial of the last name, only if necessary, in your prayer requests. While prayer members protect each other’s’ privacy as normal practice, please pay special attention to respect the privacy of all those non-members for whom we pray.  Confidentiality is of utmost importance and is adhered to at all times by members, volunteers and staff in Prayer Ministry at OMI Lacombe Canada.

If you cannot read the intentions comfortably and must print the sheets, consider printing in “grey scale” to conserve ink. At the Foot of the Cross Prayer intentions are emailed weekly on Tuesdays to Prayer Group members and published on Wednesday as Prayer Corner, on the OMI-Lacombe website’s Members Section (UserID and Password required).
