Week 4
January 27, 2025
As a community, we pray
For the repose of Fr. Jean-Paul Isabelle, OMI, who passed away January 17, 2025 at the age of 93 at Despins Residence in Winnipeg, MB. We ask God to bring consolation and peace to his Oblate community at Despins Residence and to the members of his family.
- For Edie and Rayne of Edmonton, and for grandparents and grandkids everywhere, seeking to walk together in deeper relationship with Jesus towards Baptism and sacramental life. May the Holy Spirit be always there as a light to their steps along the way.
- For Geralyn from Alberta, who is suffering from depression, anxiety and near homelessness. We pray for the Holy Spirit to guide her steps to seek help and her heart to be filled with the healing joy of Jesus
- For Irene R of Arnprior who is recovering from a heart attack in December. We pray for Irene’s speedy recovery and for God’s graces to restore her to good health.
- For Carol C in Arnprior area who has been battling with pancreatic cancer since 2022. We pray for her comfort and well-being, as well as that of her husband Bob who is accompanying her with much grace and love. May Our Lord graciously keep guard over Carol and Bob in their journey.
- For Rod in Ottawa who is facing more skin cancer surgery. As the live-in care giver for his 90-year-old mother, his caregiving absence for post-surgical recovery causes him great anxiety. We pray for mom and son that they feel the loving presence of the Holy Spirit during this challenging time.
- For Lesley from St. Albert as she struggles with mental health challenges. We pray that God may grant her healing and peace.
- For Bill in Edmonton who suffers from diminishing health and mobility. We pray for his wife, family, doctors, and nurses caring for him in the health system, and for the dignified care he needs at this time.
- For Walter C. from Ottawa who has suffered a stroke and is experiencing great fear and anxiety. We pray that through the peaceful presence of Jesus and through His grace that Walter may find healing and hope in his recovery.
A Prayer of Healing
O! Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, we ask for your intercession as the voice of the first peoples’ of our common homeland to help us protect our ecology, to care for Creation and to support each other in gratitude.
We pray that we, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, may draw from the example of your short faith-filled life, a profound hope in the Resurrection. May we strive for an authentic relationship of mutual respect, friendship and joy, as brothers and sisters, on a path of healing and reconciliation.
May your prayer ever be our prayer: “Jesos Konoronkwa”, Jesus, I love you.
