Week 40

October 6, 2025

As a community, we pray

  • For Deb in Ottawa as she faces a cancer relapse and begins chemotherapy. Deb is Rob Meilleur’s partner. We pray that God grant Deb strength, healing, and hope for surgery ahead, and that Rob accompany Deb in courage and peace.
  • For the repose of Trevor Richmond of Saskatoon who died on September 21,2025. Trevor was 58 years old and struggled with severe diverticulitis. We pray for Twyla Richmond, his wife of 21 years that she may find consolation, strength, and peace in her faith.
  • For Father Ron Rolheiser, OMI, as he prepares for a third cancer surgery in November. We pray that this surgery, will again give Ron several years of cancer containment, full health and no need for treatment. May Ron’s continued optimism and hope be graciously blessed through God’s abundant mercy.
  • For Jocelyn in Saskatoon who has special needs and has been hospitalized in order to adjust her medications. We pray that the next couple of weeks prove successful and give Jocelyn and her family comfort, healing and hope.

Pope’s Prayer Intention for the month of October: For collaboration between different religious traditions:

Let us pray that believers in different religious traditions might work together to defend and promote peace, justice, and human fraternity.

A Prayer of Healing

O! Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, we ask for your intercession as the voice of the first peoples’ of our common homeland to help us protect our ecology, to care for Creation and to support each other in gratitude.

We pray that we, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, may draw from the example of your short faith-filled life, a profound hope in the Resurrection. May we strive for an authentic relationship of mutual respect, friendship and joy, as brothers and sisters, on a path of healing and reconciliation.

May your prayer ever be our prayer: “Jesos Konoronkwa”, Jesus, I love you.
