As a community, we pray
That the Lord will welcome into His Kingdom
- David Munoz OMI who died peacefully on October 5, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. May he rest in the peace of the Lord.
For these brothers and sisters, their neighbours and friends, their families and those who love them and those who provide for their care
- For Don in Windsor ON who is dealing with cancer-related health problems. We pray for his health team and for the Lord’s blessings on Don at this time.
- For Mitch in St. Albert who is having medical tests to assess serious health concerns. We pray that the tests lead to effective treatment, healing and recovery for Mitch.
- For Lori Weinkauf who is having a vascular intervention. We pray for the procedure to go well and provide Lorie and family comfort and hope.
- For Vern Reichert who has recently been diagnosed with prostrate cancer. We place Vern’s care in the hands of his health team and we pray for speedy remission and complete recovery.
- For Gerry Weinkauf who will undergo double knee replacement surgery shortly. We pray for Gerry’s complete recovery, mobility and satisfaction.
- For Eileen and Reb Materi, dear friends of the Saskatchewan District community. Reb is a former Oblate. Both are having multiple health issues. We pray for their restored health.
Pope Francis’ Prayer Intention for October
For a shared mission: We pray that the Church continue to sustain in all ways a Synodal lifestyle, as a sign of co-responsibility, promoting the participation, the communion and the mission shared among priests, religious and lay people.
A Prayer of Healing
O! Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, we ask for your intercession as the voice of the first peoples’ of our common homeland to help us protect our ecology, to care for Creation and to support each other in gratitude.
We pray that we, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, may draw from the example of your short faith-filled life, a profound hope in the Resurrection. May we strive for an authentic relationship of mutual respect, friendship and joy, as brothers and sisters, on a path of healing and reconciliation.
May your prayer ever be our prayer: “Jesos Konoronkwa”, Jesus, I love you.
