Week 44

November 3, 2025

As a community, we pray

  • For Bro. Harley Mapes, OMI, as he faces health challenges. May God grant him strength, courage, and peace throughout his treatment, and may he feel the loving support of his Oblate brothers, family, and friends. We pray that God’s healing presence surrounds him each day and that he continues to find hope and comfort in faith.
  • For Fr. Andrzej Stendzina, OMI and Fr. Frank Kuczera, OMI and their Oblate colleagues as they conclude their two week Session in Rome for Congregational Major Superiors. We pray that the Lord will bless them with grace and renewal in their leadership in fidelity to the Oblate charism.
  • For  Cecilia Przybylski, age 90, who died on October 24, 2025 in Fairview, AB. Cecilia is the sister of Mike Dechant, OMI. We pray for the repose of Cecilia and for the comfort and consolation of Mike and all Cecelia’s family and friends.
  • For Raymond Piché, who died on October 24, 2025. Raymond is the brother of Camille Piche, OMI. May the Lord grant eternal rest to Raymond and console the Piché family and friends at this time of sorrow.
  • For Janet in Prince George, BC who is waiting to begin her chemo treatments. We pray that Janet finds the strength she needs to journey through this very scary time.
  • For Mary Duggan who is in ICU after contracting C-difficile. She has undergone extensive tests and scans. We pray for Mary’s perseverance to return to health and for members of her care team.
  • For Tess (100 yrs. of age) who fell twice in the past two weeks. We ask the Lord for Tess’s healing and for her family and care team who are arranging next level of care and comfort.
  • For Lukas age 16, Colleen Kerr’s grandson, who is experiencing rejection from his peers at his new school and turning to cannabis. We pray that the Lord will strengthen and guide this young man in successfully navigating difficult paths.
  • For Andrew Weinkauf of Edmonton, grandson of Oblate Associates Lori and Gerry Weinkauf. Andrew was struck by a vehicle and is in the University of Alberta Hospital in serious condition. We pray that with God’s graces, the necessary care and his family’s love, Andrew makes a full recovery.

Pope’s Prayer Intention for the month of November: For the prevention of suicide:

Let us pray that those who are tempted to commit suicide might find the support, care and love they need in their community, and be open to the beauty of life.

A Prayer of Healing

O! Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, we ask for your intercession as the voice of the first peoples’ of our common homeland to help us protect our ecology, to care for Creation and to support each other in gratitude.

We pray that we, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, may draw from the example of your short faith-filled life, a profound hope in the Resurrection. May we strive for an authentic relationship of mutual respect, friendship and joy, as brothers and sisters, on a path of healing and reconciliation.

May your prayer ever be our prayer: “Jesos Konoronkwa”, Jesus, I love you.
