Prayer Corner: ‘At the foot of the Cross’
Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group
Members of the Saint Eugene Prayer Group commit to offering these intentions daily in their own manner of prayer. All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are highly encouraged to actively pray for the requested intentions.
Week 46
November 11, 2024
As a community, we pray
For the veterans who survive in testimony, the service men and women who courageously gave their lives and those who valiantly seek peace in our World
May Christ Jesus, like the seed buried in the ground, that produces the harvest of eternal life for us, make us always dead to sin and alive to God. O Lord, for those You have called, in the conflicts of our age and before, and the souls of all the faithful departed, may eternal rest be granted unto them, and may Your perpetual light shine upon them. And for the peacemakers, may they be truly blessed, and called children of God. Amen.
For these brothers and sisters, their neighbours and friends, their families and those who love them and those who provide for their care
- For Bro. Tom Cavanaugh OMI in Vancouver who is awaiting an angiogram following a heart attack. Tom is doing well and experiencing no pain. We pray for Tom’s recovery and for all the members of his community at The Crescent
- For Danielle Brisson, our CROCUS Executive Secretary, in Ottawa, who recently suffered a pelvic fracture from a riding accident. Danielle is being transferred from hospital to a rehabilitation facility. We pray for Danielle and her family as she begins her journey to recovery
- For Joanella Townsend of North Carolina who has been diagnosed with kidney cancer. We pray for timely intervention and treatment by her medical team and for the Lord’s abundant blessings on her.
- For Georgina Lightning of Edmonton who has cancer and is trying to blend both Western and Indigenous medical treatment. We pray to the God of all Creation to send His restorative love to heal Georgina.

- For Murray Sinclair, as his spirit goes back to the Creator, we pray that he lives fully in Love and continue to intercede for his family, all indigenous peoples, and all of Canada.
- For Fr. George LaGrange, OMI, who was hospitalized in Vancouver yesterday after a fall. We pray for healing of his broken ribs and fractured collarbone and that the Lord grant him a smooth and speedy recovery.
Pope Francis’ Prayer Intention for November: For those who have lost a child
We pray that all parents who mourn the loss of a son or daughter might find consolation in their community, and may receive peace of heart from the Spirit of Consolation.
A Prayer of Healing
O! Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, we ask for your intercession as the voice of the first peoples’ of our common homeland to help us protect our ecology, to care for Creation and to support each other in gratitude.
We pray that we, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, may draw from the example of your short faith-filled life, a profound hope in the Resurrection. May we strive for an authentic relationship of mutual respect, friendship and joy, as brothers and sisters, on a path of healing and reconciliation.
May your prayer ever be our prayer: “Jesos Konoronkwa”, Jesus, I love you.
