Prayer Corner: ‘At the foot of the Cross’
Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group

Members of the Saint Eugene Prayer Group commit to offering these intentions daily in their own manner of prayer. All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are highly encouraged to actively pray for the requested intentions.

Week 48
November 25, 2024

As a community, we pray

For these brothers and sisters, their neighbours and friends, their families and those who love them and those who provide for their care

  • For Lynn Joab of Trinidad who is undergoing breast cancer surgery, and her husband Malcolm who is recovering from recent cancer surgery himself. We pray that the Lord will bring healing and recovery to them.
  • For Haylee of Saskatoon, whose father died in a tragic altercation with another individual. May God brings Haylee and her mom peace and consolation during this time of sorrow and shock.
  • For Barbara in Edmonton who is at great risk of losing a roof over her head as a result of employment loss. We pray that her anxiety over the future may be temporary and her trust in God’s plan for her may be strong.
  • We pray for the repose of Jeanne, who died November 17, 2024. She is the sister of Father Maurice Joly, OMI. We also ask the Lord to give comfort and consolation to the members of her family, especially Fr. Maurice, and all who mourn her passing.
  • For Bill F of Almonte, ON who has undergone bladder cancer surgery at the Ottawa Hospital and is under observation before returning to the Almonte General Hospital for rest. We pray for Bill’s speedy recovery and for Jacquie his wife during this difficult time
  • For Stephanie Scott and family of Saskatchewan, as they mourn the passing of her father-in-law, Dan, last week. May the Lord bring consolation and comfort to those who mourn Dan’s passing.

Prayer to Christ the King

Grant, O Lord, to Thy Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry; praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; To it be glory and honor forever. Amen.  Source: Missionaries of Divine Revelation

A Prayer of Healing

O! Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, we ask for your intercession as the voice of the first peoples’ of our common homeland to help us protect our ecology, to care for Creation and to support each other in gratitude.

We pray that we, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, may draw from the example of your short faith-filled life, a profound hope in the Resurrection. May we strive for an authentic relationship of mutual respect, friendship and joy, as brothers and sisters, on a path of healing and reconciliation.

May your prayer ever be our prayer: “Jesos Konoronkwa”, Jesus, I love you.

ADD OUR VOICES TO YOUR INTENTIONS … SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.
