Saint Eugene’s Prayer Group

Members of the Saint Eugene Prayer Group commit to offering these intentions daily in their own manner of prayer. All members of OMI Lacombe Canada are highly encouraged to actively pray for the requested intentions.

Week 9

March 3, 2025

As a community, we pray

  • For Randy Gushue, husband of Barbara Gushue, the Brother Anthony District Administrator in St. Albert. Randy had a massive heart attack on Valentine’s Day and has now been released from the University of Alberta hospital. We pray for Randy’s recovery and for Barbara and their family as they journey with Randy along this road.
  • For Fr. Ron Rissling, OMI who underwent hip replacement. We pray for Ron’s strong and rapid recovery and we pray for the medical staff who care for him and for his community at Pandosy who support him.
  • For Ashley F. in Toronto whose cognitive decline has progressed rapidly. We ask God to bless the family, in their continued, loving support as they struggle to deal with the realities of the situation.
  • For Jack M, whose health is in decline. We pray that the Lord’s gentle Love will surround Jack at this time and be a source of strength to his wife Barbara and the family.
  • For Mark Schan from Kerrobert, Corrine P’s uncle, who just celebrated his 94th birthday. May God bless him with continued health and a peaceful heart.
  • For Haylee and Jessie of Saskatoon, as their journey of loss continues. We pray for Jesus’ gentle healing to quench their sorrow at this time.
  • For Gay W of Almonte Ontario who is undergoing breast cancer surgery. We pray that Gay will take comfort in her deep faith and know that the Lord will watch over her.
  • For Steve Nelson, who is hospitalized with chemotherapy treatments in Duncan BC, and his wife Jan. We pray that they know God’s peace, love and healing in their journey as a newly married couple.
  • For Fr. Jim Bleackley OMI whose rapidly progressing symptoms have resulted in a diagnose of glioblastoma – an aggressive and terminal brain tumour. Jim will return home to Whitehorse where his sister Pat, a nurse, will provide care. We pray with Jim and for Jim, with the same deep faith and abiding hope, even amidst suffering, that Christ remains ever present to him and us, his people, his family, in this journey.Pope’s Prayer Intention for March

For families in crisis: Let us pray that broken families might discover the cure for their wounds through forgiveness, rediscovering each other’s gifts, even in their differences.

A Prayer of Healing

O! Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, we ask for your intercession as the voice of the first peoples’ of our common homeland to help us protect our ecology, to care for Creation and to support each other in gratitude.

We pray that we, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, may draw from the example of your short faith-filled life, a profound hope in the Resurrection. May we strive for an authentic relationship of mutual respect, friendship and joy, as brothers and sisters, on a path of healing and reconciliation.

May your prayer ever be our prayer: “Jesos Konoronkwa”, Jesus, I love you.
