Saint Paul University Appoints Dr. Louis Patrick Leroux as New Rector

Saint Paul University is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Louis Patrick Leroux as the university’s next rector.

Selected through rigorous and independent process, the Board of Governors unanimously endorsed Dr. Leroux for the position. He will officially begin his term as Rector later this spring.

With his rich experience as a manager, philanthropist, researcher and committed human being, he embodies the core values of our institution.” shared Marie-Michèle Laferrière, President of the Board of Governors. “His daily commitment to making the world a more just and beautiful place through the arts is a testament to his bold vision and commitment to social justice.”

“As our next leader, we are confident that he will breathe new life into our projects and programs and position Saint Paul University innovatively in the global academic and socio-cultural landscape,” continued Laferrière. “We look forward to collaborating with and supporting him in his new role.”

Dr. Leroux joins SPU from Concordia University in Montreal where he served as Vice-Dean of Research in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In this role, he championed interdisciplinarity, supported faculty and students in their research initiatives and secured numerous grants and funding opportunities for the faculty.
