Young Pilgrims of Hope
In just a few days, young people from all over the world will arrive in Rome to celebrate the Jubilee and meet Pope Leo. Oblate youth, too, will be on the move, walking in the footsteps of Saint Eugene. This very week, as we prepare for those events, the General House is hosting the Third Oblate Congress on Mission with Youth. Oblates, consecrated women, and young members of our charismatic family are coming together to ask: How do we answer the call of mission today?
From the very beginning, mission with young people has been at the heart of our identity. In many places, renewing this mission has brought about a true revival of our charism. My hope is that young people will make us bolder and more creative in our mission with the poor. They will help us fall more deeply in love with our charism, live more authentically in apostolic communities, and embrace the vision of our Founder with renewed passion.
Let us receive this moment as a call to conversion. Young people, do not be afraid to be bold missionaries, and help us live the Gospel with greater charismatic integrity. Let us not be afraid to journey with the young, together nurturing the hope that does not disappoint.
